Special Thanks

"Before I sign off I would like to draw attention to a man who has probably done more for this organization than any of us, and yet has never been thanked for his contribution. Jack Higgins resigned as Treasurer after returning from the Deaflympics in Taiwan. It is my opinion that without Jack’s acts of generosity by continually covering costs with his own money (and loaning us money over the last 8 years; the Men’s and Women’s team would have collapsed.

He helped finance numerous camps just to give you guys a chance to get together and prepare for Greece and Taiwan, as well as help pay for insurances etc. He has never asked for recognition for his gestures or even pressurized us to be reimbursed.

This man deserves our respect. I would appreciate it if you players would take a few seconds of your time to e-mail Jack just to say Thank you. Jack Higgans can be reached at: Higco@aol.com

Another person who deserves our gratitude is Beverly Michel. She helped finance both the Greece World Cup and the Deaflympics and worked wonders making money available at the last minute to help players who needed a loan to pay for their trip to Taiwan.
