Renca Dunn: Hello, what is your name?
Toby Fitch: My name is Toby Fitch.
Dunn: How are you feeling about the competition that the US women will have against Germany?
Fitch: I have a very good feeling about them. It is a good day. It is a beautiful day, actually! I have confidence that the US women soccer team will win.
Dunn: Awesome! I am glad to hear that. Thank you!
Fitch: Thanks!

Renca Dunn: Hello, what is your name?
Mike Lawson: I am Mike Lawson.
Dunn: How do you feel about today’s game USA vs Germany?
Lawson: I have a great feeling for them. They were ready this morning for breakfast. They were all fired up and ready to go. It is going to be a good game today.
Dunn: You feel good representing for USA?
Lawson: Yes, definitely!
Dunn: Proud?
Lawson: Oh yeah! Proud!
Dunn: Thank you!

The game has just begun. Number 10, Liza Offreda had the ball then passed it to Anna Smithen and she made the first goal.

Now, it is time for our halftime report. The result: US – 2, Germany- 0.

The US women soccer team has a great start for the Deaflympics. The result of the game for Germany versus US is that US won with the score of 4 to 0. Felicia Schroeder made the last goal.

Renca Dunn: How long have you been playing for the US women soccer team?
Regan Anders: Since 2003.
Dunn: So, this is your first win for this year’s Deaflympics and the Deaflympics have not started yet! How do you feel?
Regan: I feel more confident for the rest of our games. It is a good feeling. We worked hard. It is definitely a good start.

Dunn: Explain to me about how it feels to stand by the sidelines and playing on the field. What is the difference?
Virginia Keeler: When I was standing and watching my team, I felt anxious to play! Then when I played on the field, it was a great feeling.
Dunn: So, how do you feel about your win against Germany?
Keeler: It feels great! We have been doing well during practices, but now I feel so confident.
Dunn: Yep, that is right! Confidence will win you the game.
Keeler: Right!
