Jones PK Save

Jones saves 2 penalty kicks to keep the US alive.

The USA men's team struggled to find the back of the net once again as they took Japan to a 0-0 draw. Many opportunies were provided for both teams, but neither could put a tally on the scoreboard. Japan had its best opportunity to take the lead when a penalty kick was award after a foul inside the US box. Chris Jones stopped the first penalty kick but the sideline referee called the kick back saying Jones had jumped the line. Japan was awarded a second penalty kick and it was Jones who came up big the second time, stopping the shot down the middle. Jones would continue to keep the Japanese from scoring through his agressive play in the box.

US defender DJ Rowse had the Americans best chance for winning the game after his shot crossed the line but the referee's did not make the call.

With the tie, the US must beat Great Britain in the final match of Group play on Tuesday to advance to the 2nd round, something the US has never done in Deaflympic history.
