US Deaf soccer history to score.

The USA Women's team clinch Group A with a 7-0 victory over Denmark. The real stories don't lie within the score however. Teammates and fans were able to witness Kate Ward become the youngest player in US Deaf soccer history to score in a Deaflympic game at 15 years, 7 months, and 26 days old. Ward was able to dribble through the Denmark back line before slotting the ball into the right side of the net past the Denmark goalkeeper. Kelly O'Steen netted three goals for the day including one off a corner kick. The goalkeeper attempted to punch the ball out of the box only to end up hitting her own defender in the back of the head knocking the ball into the back of the net. Felica Schroeder started the match off with 2 quick goals before coming off with an injury. Schroeder has 4 goals on the tournament in only 2 games. Virginia Keeler came on for Schroeder and headed a goal over the goalkeeper just before the 1st half expired. Jessie Zamichow would also gain her second shutout going 180 minutes without conceding a goal.

The US will rest on Wednesday and await the results of the Great Britain-Russia game to determine who they will play in their 2nd round match.
